Artist Statement:

The “Night Bird Series” is a group of works that was started in February 2009 as part of my sabbatical project. It is an investigation of painting with encaustic medium (wax) in combination with collaged elements from my prints. These small paintings continue to utilize pattern, geometry and architecture which is always fundamental to my work. In addition, they build on spontaneity of movement and mark-making within the multi-layered space.
