The objective of the Education component of the mission of The Gerontology Center is to increase the knowledge of students and faculty in aging research while fostering positive attitudes about aging.

The primary approaches through which this occurs are:

1) Encouraging students and faculty to attend the Seminar Series in Gerontological Research;

2) Training undergraduate and graduate students in how to assist in research laboratories to help them gain experience, learn
advanced techniques, present at conferences, and help prepare them for productive careers;

3) Providing both a Gerontology Certificate Program and a Gerontology Minor, as well as recommending workshops relevant to aging.
