As part of our system wide collaboration with others in Gerontology, The Center was featured at the University of Massachusetts multi-campus booth at the 64th Annual Meeting of The Gerontological Society of America in Boston, November 18-22, 2011. The UMass system exhibit included programs from the 4 campuses: The UMass Dartmouth Gerontology Center, UMass Boston College of Nursing and Health Sciences, UMass Lowell Nursing and UMass Medical (School of Nursing, Rosalie Wolf Center, and the Division of Medicine).

2012 Jack M. Gould Memorial Scholarship awarded to student pursuing Age-Related Research

2011 Jack M. Gould Memorial Scholarship awarded to student pursuing Ph.D. in Gerontology

Emily Gabois, a graduate of the Combined BA/MA Psychology Program at UMass Dartmouth, was accepted into the Ph.D. Gerontology Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston, beginning in Fall 2011. She will pursue research in enhancing public policy services for older adults.

Jack M. Gould Memorial Scholarship Award
The purpose of the Jack M. Gould Memorial Scholarship Award is to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to pursue professional careers in service to the elderly. It was established to honor the work of the late Jack M. Gould, former director of the New Bedford Council on Aging, who was active for many years in service to elders of southeastern Massachusetts. For more information about this award or others, please contact the Office of Advancement.
