Kaput Center researcher receives CAREER award from National Science Foundation

Research scientist Dr. Chandra Orrill, of the Kaput Center for Research and Innovation in STEM Education, recently received a prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation to explore a hypothesis about mathematics teacher knowledge formed through work with teachers both in research settings and in professional development.

CUSP recently received an NEH grant to host a series of Underground Railroad workshops for teachers this summer entitled "Sailing to Freedom." Teachers from across the country will come to UMass Dartmouth to learn about New Bedford's important role in the Abolitionist movement and the Underground Railroad.

The Kaput Center has announced a new Math Education Doctoral Program. The  Ph.D. program is the result of many years of research and developent originally pioneered by Professor James Kaput. The program will be offered by STEM department faculty with support from the Kaput Center. Read more
