Notes: UMass Dartmouth's Jason Orlando went 3-5 with 5 RBI to lead the Corsairs to an 11-7 non-conference victory over Albertus Magnus College Sunday in Dartmouth, MA. The win improves the Corsairs' record to 16-9 overall, while Albertus Magnus falls to 13-11-1.
A junior center fielder from Gloucester, MA, Orlando had a two-run home run in the third and a tw- run double in the fourth plus and RBI single in the fifth for the Corsairs. UMass Dartmouth's Tom Jachimczyk was 3-4 with a double and two singles and an RBI. UMass Dartmouth's Geoff Nettleton knocked in two runs with a single in the second.
Albertus Magnus jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second with three singles and an RBI single by Vin Caruso. UMass Dartmouth came back with a pair of runs on a two-run single by Nettleton. Albertus Magnus added one in the third on a solo home run by Ryan Johnson before the Corsairs scored two in the third on Orlando's two-run HR.
UMass Dartmouth scored four in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 10-4 lead. Jachimczyk had an RBI single, while Orlando added a two-run double in the fourth and Orlando's single in the fifth added another. Albertus Magnus put up three in the seventh with Jay Wyatt bringing one in with a sacrifice fly and another on Ryan Johnson's RBI double.
