About Environmental Health and Safety

The Office of Environmental Health & Safety was recently created to assist faculty, staff and students on all safety related activities at the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth. The office exists to provide for a safe educational and work environment for all and ensure the protection of the environment. This is accomplished by:

·         Providing guidance in best practices for work with hazardous materials and equipment

·         Offering a wide range of safety training,

·         Conducting safety audits of the campus facilities; including, laboratories, machine shops, art studies, etc. and

·         Management of the hazardous waste generated as a result of day-to-day educational and research activities.

This can only be done with the cooperation and participation of the campus community.
