The reason the sustainability initiative is making so much progress is because it involves experienced people who are passionate about what they're doing. Dr. Timothy Walker exemplifies the determined group of people needed by the sustainability program. He has quite the list of accomplishments and the list doesn't seem to be dwindling by any means.

Walker's expertise is prevalent to say the least. He teaches Early Modern Europe, The Atlantic World, Maritime History and European Global Colonial Expansion. He is the recipient of a Fullbright dissertation fellowship to Portugal, as well as a fellow of the Luso-American Development Foundation and the Portuguese Orient Foundation. Walker has held a Wellcome Trust Travel Grant to the Wellcome Trust Center for the History of Medicine at the University of London.

Recently, Walker conducted a presentation on Peak Oil, addressing questions about our dependency on oil. His presentation concentrated on the United State's consumption of oil from about 1860 to today. Sometimes, all it takes is a presentation of the like to get others involved with sustainability.
