Functions of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID):

The USFPD Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is part of the operations unit and consists of three detectives and a supervisor. The types of cases that the detectives investigate range from crimes against persons, such as robbery, to crimes against property including vehicle theft, fraud, and thefts with high dollar property loss. The investigative section participates in several task forces in Hillsborough County and the State of Florida. Dignitary protection and special event preparations are also part of the CID.
