Medication Aide Training for Assisted Living Facilities 

Several of Virginia's community colleges are approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing to offer the 68 hour Medication Aide Training Program.  Medication Aides working in Assisted Living Facilities must be registered with the Virginia Board of Nursing by December 31, 2008.

As of January 1, 2009, all applicants will be required to take the 68 hour curriculum before submitting an application for registration.  (This training does not apply to those individuals administering medications in Child Day Care Centers, Adult Day Care Centers, Mental Health Facilities, and Juvenile Justice/Corrections Facilities.)
