board of visitors 2011-2012: Overview

The Board of Visitors (BOV) is the governing body for Virginia State University.  By Code of Virginia section § 23‑165.6,   the Board is responsible for controlling and expending funds of the University including its appropriations, appoint the President, establish tuition and fees and direct the affairs for University. 

The 15 Board of Visitors members assemble on campus for quarterly scheduled meetings to discuss strategic planning and budgeting, student and academic affairs, endowment management, resources and governance, auditing, and facilities management. The members also participate in annual and special events on- and off-campus. 

2011 - 2013 Board Meeting Schedule

The Virginia State University Board of Visitors will hold a Special Meeting of the full board on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the Gateway Dining Event Center on the campus of Virginia State University.  Public access to the Special Meeting will also be available at 707 S. President Street, Baltimore, MD  21202 and 385 Ireland Street, West Chesterfield, MA 01084.

No public comment period is scheduled.
