School of Engineering, Science and Technology
The School of Engineering, Science, and Technology is committed to providing a stimulating learning environment where classroom instruction and laboratory experiences combine to prepare students for the global workforce under constant demand and rapid change due to advances in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics. The School houses undergraduate programs that prepare students to become professionals who adapt to societal change, are life-long learners, and understand the economic impact of innovation. All of the disciplines within the School feature depth in the major courses and substantial grounding in mathematics, natural and physical sciences, the humanities, and social sciences.
The graduate programs in biology, computer science, mathematics, and psychology offer students an opportunity to engage in research that addresses national and global challenges in high impact areas such as education, health, biotechnology and security. The project management graduate certificate program provides professionals with skills in leadership, systems and risk management for the successful execution of complex projects.
Mission
The Mission of the School of Engineering, Science and Technology is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education in engineering, engineering technology, mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, industrial technology and education; and to produce graduates who are well prepared to practice in their field of study and/or to pursue advanced education.
General Objectives
The primary objectives of the school are:
- To maintain and continually strive to improve the quality of instruction in all academic areas.
- To prepare students to enter professional careers in the public and private sectors or to continue their education beyond the baccalaureate level in professional or graduate school.
