The Engineering and Construction Department supports the University Community by providing professional engineering services and project management for all new construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade projects on the Dayton Campus, Lake Campus and all off-campus facilities. Engineering services include project design and review, code and procedure compliance, cost estimating, construction bidding, and award of contracts. Project management includes assurance of quality construction through on-site management, compliance with plans, specifications and building codes, and the management of project budgets and schedules. The department provides engineering support to the Physical Plant department to maintain and upgrade building environmental systems, campus utilities, parking lots, sidewalks, and roadways. If you have questions about current projects under construction, please e-mail the corresponding project manager or send a message to construction@wright.edu. Please regularly refer to our Web site for updated information regarding campus accessibility and also for current and future project information.
NEWS CALENDARThe University is currently engaged in a yearlong project to replace the supply water piping on campus. As the project progresses we will keep you informed of road and sidewalk closures as well as water shut downs and boil advisories.
The Supply Water Piping Project is currently entering the main campus quad area. The construction in the main campus quad area should last eight to ten weeks and will affect pedestrian traffic as well as areas of the main campus where public events are held. There will be two construction crews (A & B) working in separate areas.
We urge all of the campus community to respect and obey the construction barricades in place as this work progresses. These are in place for your safety and the safety of others.
Please see this map of the affected areas. If you plan on holding an event in one of the affected areas you will need to seek an alternative location for your event.
Please contact Engineering and Construction with any questions at: construction@wright.edu
