The domestic water main infrastructure is over 40 years old, and much of this pipe is nearing the end of its useful life. This project will address the rehabilitation of over 16,000 lineal feet of existing buried pipe in a series of phases, reflecting the University’s desire to complete the project with the least amount of disruption possible to both water service and existing site work. The selected project design uses three methods for water line repairs; direct replacement, abandonment and reroute, or cured in place pipe (CIPP) lining to rehab the existing domestic water utility infrastructure. This rehab will repair or replace approximately 3 miles of piping, replace over 110 underground valves and replace more than 50 fire hydrants.
