CAREER PLANNING TIPS
Since marketing has such a wide range of professions, marketing graduates will have a wide variety of career opportunities. To better prepare for a marketing career, keep the following tips in mind:
One skill that you already have is that you are a consumer. Find out what interests you, or what you like. For example, sports, fashion design, computers, music, or whatever ! You will find that the possibilities in marketing are endless. From research to retail, our department will guide you to possess the competitive edge needed in the business world. Real experience, high quality education, and a successful program will help you plan for an exciting future in marketing.
BULLETIN BOARD
Make sure that you frequently check our department Bulletin Board located right outside of 266 Rike Hall or for recent job and internship opportunities, class or schedule changes, scholarship information, and other important information from our department.
MARKETING CLUB (WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION)
The Marketing Club offers the student connections with other students, corporate executives, and lecturers just to name a few. You will have opportunities to meet employers in the marketing field and receive job related information and skills. This is an excellent way to network and gain leadership skills. Join the club or come to a meeting!
PERIODICALS
To improve your educational experience and help further your career, keep up to date with business periodicals such as the Dayton Business Journal, The Wall Street Journal, Advertising Age, Sales & Marketing Management, Business 2.0, and Technology First. These are available online at University Libraries, or you may want to get a subscription or access selected articles for free via email and the web.
