Sustainable Living Chautauqua
Sustainable Living Chautauqua to be hosted at Wright State University
Sustainable living and “going green” are popular words this day in age. What does sustainable mean? What is “going green”? Does it cost a lot to practice sustainability and “going green”? What can I do to become more sustainable? These questions and more will be answered during the B-W Greenway’s Chautauqua (mini conference) regarding sustainability and "green" living.
Organized by the Wright State University Center for Urban and Public Affairs on behalf of the B-W Greenway Community Land Trust, the purpose of this gathering is to inform the public, B-W Greenway members, and the Wright State Community about sustainable practices, where they may find and utilize these resources in their community, and answer questions regarding sustainability.
A group of panelists for the Chautauqua will consist of Katrina Arnold, Youth and Family Education Supervisor of Cox Arboretum-a Five Rivers Metropark; John Seryak, the Principal and Lead Engineer of Go Sustainable Energy from Columbus, Ohio; Michele Simmons, Environmental Compliance Coordinator of the City of Dayton, Department of Water, Division of Environmental Management; and Mary Rogero, Architect with Litehouse Development Group located in Dayton, Ohio.
The agenda will include remarks from each panelist, a question and answer period, and an open discussion to engage attendees and panelists in meaningful dialogue.
The 2008 B-W Greenway Chautauqua will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd from 5:30-8pm, in 020 Rike Hall located on campus at Wright State University.
