These are typical sections and order. You may have additional sections (e.g. research) to reflect your unique experiences. Use reverse chronological order, i.e., most recent first.

Identifying Information

Education (if no degree, indicate dates of attendance)

Military Experience (active or retired, rank)

Licenses (for independent practice, e.g., LPC, LCSW, RN)

Clinical Training (could be of several types including practicum, volunteer experience and paid work)

Practicum Training (Supervised clinical work associate with degree program. Include Bachelor's level work only for formal training that was supervised by a mental health professional and that is relevant for current education, training, and goals)

Volunteer Clinical Work (Unpaid clinically related work that was not practicum or otherwise required)

Teaching Experience

Other Work Experience

School and Community Service

Publications/Presentations (can be separate sections if you have several in each category)

Professional Memberships (e.g., APA, OPA, ABCT, etc.)

Awards (not mentioned under Education, e.g., school fellowships, work commendations)

Special Competencies/Interests (e.g., second language, unique hobby)
