Women's Hoops Looks for First Home Win vs. Saint Francis (Pa.)   

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State women’s basketball team returns to Beeghly Center for its first of just two home games in December on Wednesday against Saint Francis (Pa.). Five Penguins Earn MVFC All-Academic Accolades   
St. Louis, Mo. – The Youngstown State football team had five members named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's All-Academic squad, the league announced on Tuesday.
Offensive lineman Brian Mellott was a first-team selection while Tom Krupko, Ben Nowicki and Stephen Blose were second-team picks and offensive lineman Brad Samsa was an honorable-mention choice. Release   
Penguins' Volleyball Signs Three Players to 2009 Squad

Youngstown -- A setter, an outside hitter and a middle blocker have signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and volleyball careers at Youngstown State, head volleyball coach Joe Bonner announced.
Angie Roidt (McFarland, Wis.), Suzanne Lassiegne (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Martina Davis (Penn Hills, Pa.) will also join the Penguins’ for the 2009 season. Release   
LaFleur Named to All-Tournament Team as Guins Fall in Title Game   
Nikita LaFleur had 31 points in two games          Pittsburgh -- A taller Pittsburgh team shot 67.2 percent and held Youngstown State to 30.6 percent in a 99-42 victory in the championship game of the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday.
YSU senior forward Nikita LaFleur was named to the all-tournament team, following up a 24-point effort in YSU's win against Weber State with seven points against Pitt. Release | Stats
