We worked as “music buddies” at P.S. 123 in Harlem, teaching music to kindergarteners. The school had a real need; their music classes had been squeezed out by budget cuts. There was no music teacher, and 300 recorders were locked in a closet.

CCNY features 16 varsity sports, eight for women (Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Cross Country, Basketball, Fencing, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field) and eight for men (Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, Volleyball, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field), and one club sport (Men's Lacrosse).
Combined, the 16 CCNY varsity programs have captured a total of 54 City University of New York Athletic Conference championships since 1966. All teams strive for excellence, and are firm believers in teamwork making the dream work.
Najua Ward continues where he left off last season finishing first in the 400-meter Run with a time of 53.07 in the Pratt Invitational which was held on December 5th. The 5-8 sophomore leads all CUNYAC male competitors in the same event by .21. The Beavers is set to return to the track for action on January 12, 2009 at the Crowell Open.
