NEW STUDENT SESSIONS
(NSS)
All new freshmen* are required to attend a minimum of four (4) New Student Sessions (NSS), with each session worth a point. ** You are welcome to take more, but you cannot take fewer than four. One of the sessions is mandatory: Sexual Harassment. Three of the sessions are elective. You may choose freely from the wide array of NSS sessions presented throughout the school term. These elective sessions must be different i.e., you cannot get an NSS point for any session you have attended before.
You cannot graduate without fulfilling the NSS requirement. You must fulfill this requirement before you earn 31 credits. Attendance will be taken at each event. Each attended session will be recorded on you SIMS transcript.
*If you entered before Fall 2011, you are not bound by this requirement.
** SEEK, Macaulay Honors College and professional school freshmen are not bound by this requirement, but all City College students are welcome to attend NSS.
