Can a Perspective be an existing course?
Yes. Most Perspectives in fact, were existing departmental courses before proposed as part of the General education requirement.

Is a Perspective a seminar or a lecture course?
A Perspective is only limited by the subject matter taught, and the skills embedded in its teaching outcomes and assignments. It can be a small seminar, or a large lecture course. Please consult “Propose a Perspective” for course requirements in different Perspectives requirements.

What is a Perspective course is not offered every semester?
A Perspectives course does not have to be offered every semester. However, the course must consistently include the subjects, learning outcomes and assignments that rated it as a Perspective, so that it consistently can be depended upon to fulfill the Perspectives requirement.
For Faculty: What is a FIQWS?
FIQWS is a 6 credit course taken by first semester Freshmen. It combines a 3 credit writing course with an exciting topic taught at a very introductory level. Full-time faculty teach the topic section, and they collaborate with writing instructors, who teach the composition half.
