This sampler presents about 150 photographs and other images of people, activities and buildings important in the life of City College between its founding in 1847 as the Free Academy of New York and its sesquicentennial year of 1997. Images numbered 1-70 appeared in the booklet The City College of New York: Sesquicentennial. This sampler contains only about 2% of the available photographs and are divided into 13 categories.
