The Archives collects:
  • Records and correspondence of permanent value from departments, offices and programs

  • Personal papers of alumni and faculty, especially material which documents their association with City College

  • Photographs: prints, negatives and slides pertaining to the College

  • Audio tapes and videotapes of College events

  • Biographical material about alumni, and faculty

  • Blueprints and drawings of College buildings and facilities

  • College memorabilia: programs, fliers, printed ephemera, pins, insignia, scrapbooks, etc.

  • College publications

    Brochure stating the Free Academy has been buried, only to be transformed into the College of the City of New York. A noisy procession of students up Fifth Avenue on April 30, 1866 announced to the other citizens of New York that the institution of higher learning that they had voted to support with their taxes had gained a new name.
