Anne Tan, a graduate of Townsend Harris High School, is now in her third year at the Macaulay Honors College at City. She is studying to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Communications, is minoring in English and is serving as V.P. of Student Activities of the honors committee. "I made my decision to attend City College because of the opportunities it offers," she states. "Because of honors, I am able to concentrate on my academic projects and internships without having to worry about how to pay for my classes. Honors offers practical solutions and alleviates many of the concerns students have today."

Noelia Santos is currently a second year student in the Macaulay Honors College at City College. Coming from the suburbs of Rockland County, NY, the Honors College greatly appealed to Noelia. With the honors seminars and the cultural passport, it gave her the chance to explore the vast resources and excitement of New York City. She is also appreciative of the helpful honors staff. As a former Architecture major, she received support from the advisors in her search for a new path. "In addition to the opportunities that the Honors College offers, there is a wide variety of majors and concentrations at CCNY, which eases any doubts that come with being undecided."

Ravindra Deonauth, having graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, is now in his second year in City College's Honors Program as a mechanical engineering major. He chose to attend the Honors Program at the City College of New York because of the distinguished Grove School of Engineering. With the scholarship money he received, he was able to experience the newly built dormitory right on campus. He is now working towards earning  Co-Op with General Electric.

Reshma Shah is part of the CUNY Honors College, and is currently in her 4th year.  She attended W.C. Bryant High School and decided to come to City honors because of CCNY's extraordinary history, the great liberal arts programs, as well as the fellowships and scholarships it offers to its students.  She is a dual major in Political Science and International Studies with a concentration in International Relations.  Reshma plans on using her Honors College education to pursue a legal career and will be attending law school in 2008.

Hailing Yu, a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, is a second-year aspiring Biology-English dual major. She recently became the secretary of the Caedecius Society, CCNY’s prestigious pre-med student organization, and is an expierienced copy editor volunteering for the student paper, The Campus. As a 2007 Rosenburg-Humphrey Scholar, Helen spent the summer working as a public policy intern at the National Disability Rights Network in Washington D.C. “I Chose to attend City College because of the rich opportunities it offered me – one on one advising, study abroad programs, and an excellent research and science base,” Helen declares. “Because of Honors, I don’t have to worry about finances, I can focus completely on my Schoolwork.”

John Passaro is a sophomore in the Honors College at CCNY. At Stuyvesant High School, he honed his passion both for performing improvisational music and exploring math topics of interest; now he is studying both in a rigorous academic setting, as he pursues a double Bachelor's in Music and Math. On the side, he has taken up film as a hobby, serving variously as cast, crew and composer for several student films. When not in class or studying, he is either at his job (a Wall Street internship), walking and meditating in the incomparable streets of New York, or wondering what he will be when he grows up.
