Expand your vision.  Focus your future.  In the Division of Humanities and the Arts at The City College of New York, we try to help our students do both:  broaden their general understanding and find their particular passion, learn a little about everything and a lot about something.

We offer CORE courses for all CCNY students in composition, speech, art/music/literature appreciation, history, philosophy, languages.  We also offer majors and minors in art, English, languages, history, media and communication arts, music, philosophy, and theatre, as well as special programs in American studies, Asian studies, comparative literature, electronic design and multimedia, sonic arts, film and video, Jewish studies, journalism, and publishing.  Graduate students will find programs in art, art education, museum studies, literature, creative writing, language and literacy, media arts production (film and video), history, music, and Spanish.
