Shamiza Ally - Sophie Davis Class of 1997 - Dr. Shamiza Ally is a board certified Pediatrician with an interest in the area of childhood obesity prevention. Dr. Ally graduated magna cum laude from the Sophie Davis, School of Biomedical Education and earned her medical degree from New York Medical College, in Valhalla New York in 1999. Dr. Ally completed her Pediatrics residency training at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center in 2002. During that time, she co-authored and published an article on an infant with Vein of Galen Malformation in the Southern Medical Journal.
She has been a full time Pediatrician in the South Bronx at Urban Health Plan, Inc. since 2003. Dr. Ally has been involved in Urban Health Plan's pediatric weight management and diabetes prevention program since 2006 and has presented the collaborative findings at local and national conferences. Dr. Ally is also an adjunct professor at City College of New York, and teaches medical interviewing, as well precepts 1st and 2nd year medical students in community health and social medicine.
