Jeny Ng, Sophie Davis Class of 2010, is a winner of a 2008 Sophie and Leonard Davis Scholarship.
Raised in Brooklyn by Chinese immigrant parents, Ms. Ng graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 2005. She has been named to the Dean’s List in several semesters and pursued her love for literature by taking many English courses to fulfill her elective requirements.
Ms. Ng volunteered at Harlem Hospital Center as a Leonard Davis Community Service Fellow. She’s been heavily involved with the Physicians for a National Healthcare Program and served as president of the local chapter.
During her tenure, Ms. Ng was instrumental in bringing speakers on campus and in organizing a trip for members to Toronto to study the Canadian healthcare system. She’s also active in the American Medical Women’s Association, the American Medical Student Association and AMISTAD, a club that raises funds for children’s charities.
Ms. Ng joined the CCNY Varsity Women’s fencing team in her first year at Sophie Davis and has worked part time as a receptionist and dental assistant.
She will transfer to Dartmouth Medical School in 2010.
