The Department of Chemistry was established in 1904. It offers instruction and research experience in all major areas of chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department is accredited by the American Chemical Society and offers options in standard chemistry, biochemistry, and environmental chemistry. The Chemistry department in conjunction with the School of Education also has an undergraduate option in secondary school teaching.
