Alumni & Family Weekend Events Schedule
All events listed are on the main campus unless otherwise stated.

Friday, September 24

12- 4 pm: Registration and Check-in, Mezzanine level of Campus Center

1–4 pm: Class Auditing
Audit one of the hour-long open classes
Audit Schedule (.doc)

3–4 pm: Law School Tour
UMass Dartmouth has the only public law school in the Commonwealth

5–6 pm: 17th Annual Digital Media Film Festival
short works of last year’s students in two-and-three-dimensional animation.

6–8 pm: CVPA Gallery Opening—
Studio Foundations Exhibition. View the best work of last year’s CVPA first-year students.

7 pm: Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner
Separate Ticketed Event.

8 pm: Music by “Black Violin”
jazz, hip-hop, funk and classical music

Saturday, September 25

8 -11 am: Registration and Check-In
On the mezzanine level of the Campus Center.

9 am: Breakfast with the Deans and Provost
Meet the Deans and Provost over a roundtable breakfast.

9 am–4 pm: Scholarship Scavenger Hunt—
search the campus for clues that allow you to qualify for a a $1,000 scholarship/book store raffle.

10 am–4 pm: CVPA/Swain Alumni Art Sale

10 am–4 pm: Farm Stand
Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms.

10 am–12 pm: Alumni Career Panels
(Faculty Lounge in the Commuter Cafeteria)
Alumni speakers address the topics of Entrepreneurship and Community & Social Justice.

The panel includes:

Ronald Teachman '76, Chief of Police for New Bedford

Mary Lyons '81, Chief of Police for Mattapoisett and first female President of the Massachusetts Police Chief Association

Kristen Spooner '06/'08, Assistant District Attorney for Bristol County

10:30–11:30 am: Youth Sports Clinic
Children ages 5-14 meet the athletic staff and participate in a clinic.

11 am-4 pm: Family Entertainment
rock wall, bungee jump, etc.

11 am–12:30 pm: Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives Open House
Portuguese-American history comes to life.

12–2 pm: Lunch at the Residential Cafe

12–3 pm: Student Organization Displays & Activities

12–4 pm: Sports events

12 pm: Football–UMass Dartmouth vs. Plymouth State

1 pm: Women’s Soccer–UMass Dartmouth vs. UMass Boston

1–2:30 pm: Trolley Tours of New Bedford

2:30–4 pm: Trolley Tours of New Bedford

12–4 pm: Alumni Reunion Tent
Meet old friends for a beer under the tent near the Tripp Athletic Center.

2–3 pm: Law School Tour
UMass Dartmouth has the only public law school in the Commonwealth.

5 pm: Dinner with the kids or former classmates
Dine at one of the many great restaurants near campus.

5–11 pm: 5th Annual Blue & Gold Gala
This fundraising event will support law school.

7:30 pm: Movie and Fireworks

Sunday, September 26

10 am: Parent/Student Brunch

Noon: Explore New Bedford
the Whaling city hosts the Working Waterfront Festival
