Rain Plans

You will be notified via the UMD web site and Marquee at the front gate to the campus by 7:00 a.m. on the day of commencement if the rain plan is in effect. You can also call 508-999-8000 for the current status.

All graduates will receive a copy of the ceremonies on DVD for everyone to enjoy, rain or shine.

If it begins raining during the outdoor ceremonies, the exercises will be shortened to a mass graduation in the ampitheatre.

For all ceremonies (graduate, doctoral, law and undergraduate):

In the event of rain, students and guests will be accommodated in the Commencement Tent, and additional seating and viewing will be available in the Campus Center. The ceremonies will still be streamed live.

Remember that Ring Road is one-way on commencement day. The police and parking directors have authority in all cases: do not attempt to park where you are not directed.
