Rain Plans
You will be notified via the UMD web site and Marquee at the front gate to the campus by 7:00 a.m. on the day of commencement if the rain plan is in effect. You can also call 508-999-8000 for the current status.
All graduates will receive a copy of the ceremonies on DVD for everyone to enjoy, rain or shine.
If it begins raining during the outdoor ceremonies, the exercises will be shortened to a mass graduation in the ampitheatre.
Master's, Doctoral and Law Ceremony: Saturday, May 26, 2012
The ceremonies will be held in the Tripp Athletic Center. Graduates and guests can enter through clearly marked doors.
You may park in lots 7 through 14. Lot 13 is reserved for handicapped parking. Shuttle busses will make the circuit to assist bringing people to and from the Tripp Athletic Center.
Undergraduate Ceremony: Sunday, May 27, 2012
Seating at college ceremony rain locations is extremely limited. Those with tickets will be seated on a first come basis; once seating reaches capacity at each location, ticketed and non-ticketed guests will be directed to an overflow location specific to your graduate's college.
Remember that Ring Road is one-way on commencement day. The police and parking directors have authority in all cases: do not attempt to park where you are not directed.
