About Us

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers undergraduate programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Both undergraduate programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012.

At the graduate level, the ECE Department offers programs leading to a Master of Science degree in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering with options in Electrical Engineering and in Computer Engineering. In addition, the ECE Department offers five graduate certificate programs.

The primary mission of the ECE Department is the education of its students.

The ECE Department has its roots in the predecessor institutions of Bradford Durfee College of Technology in Fall River and New Bedford Institute of Technology.
