Welcome to UMD SIFE!
SIFE is a worldwide, non-profit organization that partners with various businesses and institutions of higher education to better local communities in more than forty nations. In developing community outreach projects that promote financial literacy, market economics, success skills, business ethics and entrepreneurship, student teams are able to direct what they are learning in the classroom toward solving real world problems. By participating in an annual competition, students develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills. By educating and serving others, students begin to realize their own potential.
In 2004, student founder Liam Ahearn and Professor Godwin Ariguzo first established our UMD chapter of SIFE. They quickly built a strong team of diverse students and competed in the 2004 Boston regionals where they received the rookie of the year award in 2004. They later went on to win the first runner up award in 2005. Today, SIFE UMD continues to grow in both membership and experience.
Interested in joining? SIFE meets every Thursday at 5:00 in first floor conference room of the Charlton College of Business (CCB).
