As an undergraduate psychology major, you have access to a team of three different advisors that will help you through your program.
Laura is the Department of Psychology's Academic Advisor. Her #1 priority is to assist undergraduate psychology majors. Laura is available to meet one-on-one in order to discuss the following: Psychology major or minor requirements, career goals, career options, graduate school programs, research opportunities, internship and volunteer opportunities, as well as on-campus involvement. She also organizes career and academic programs in order to provide professional development for psychology undergraduate students.
Laura's office is located in 142 Kent Hall. Stop in during Quick-Question Advising for a 5 to 10 minute meeting. Quick-Question Advising is offered on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
For longer 45 minute meetings with Laura, students must schedule an appointment.
Faculty Advisors IMAGE: Laura and undergraduate
All students should have a faculty advisor. All of our faculty are psychologists in the areas of Psychological Science, which includes social psychology or cognitive psychology, or Clinical Science, which includes clinical psychology or neuropsychology. Faculty advisors most commonly advise undergraduate psychology majors on plans for graduate school, opportunities for involvement in research, and strategies to make the most out of the time spent at Kent State University. Click here for a list of faculty members' interest areas. Read through the list and email Laura Hilliker with the name of the faculty advisor that aligns with your interest.
College of Arts & Sciences Advisors
