Submit Your Photos for the May 4 Visitors Center Exhibit

IMAGE: May 4 Visitors Center
Your photo memories can be a part of the May 4 Visitors Center exhibit!

Gallery I of the exhibit (opening in 2012) tells the story of May 4th set against the backdrop of changes of life in the 1960s: the struggle for social justice, the generation gap, and Vietnam. Consider being a part of the exhibit. Send your home photos to show what people from all walks of life looked like, what they cared about, and what they did as they experienced the ’60s.

  1. Photos should be your property and taken between 1950 and 1970. Submit up to 10 photos.
  2. Photos must be sent by July 31, 2012.
  3. You must electronically sign the user agreement by checking the box in Step 2 in order for your photos to qualify and be considered for use in the exhibit.
  4. Fill out the form below for each photo you would like to submit.
  5. Make sure the file size of the photo is no more than 5 MB. IMPORTANT: if the photo is too large, you will get an error message and have to start the upload process all over. If the photo is rejected for being too large, refer to our Instructions for Online Submissions page for help with providing your photos in a usable size and format, or consider sending your entries via email or regular mail.

Photos will be reviewed weekly and a prize awarded for the week’s favorite photo. The winner will be sent a May 4 Visitors Center milestone 40th commemoration T-shirt. The striking, symbolic design was created by a Kent State student. Photo submissions will be displayed in the Photo Gallery at
