Experiential Education provides course-based learning opportunities that nurture student development in three distinct areas:
· Academically, through courses or formal training that develops intellectual capacity;
· Socially, through the application of course-related theory and philosophy to practical, real world settings that become a means of student professional development; and,
· Professionally, by providing mechanisms for students to develop positive citizenry.
During the beginning stages, you'll work with OEECE and Kent State University faculty to connect your organization's goals and needs to the student's learning and professional development. Through further discussions and exploration, students will complete their service, service-learning projects, or community-based research to provide your organization with insight, recommendations, and possibly tools to make your desired outcomes obtainable. These learning opportunities provide an opportunity for Kent State University students to become community engaged professionals.
