WEAVEonline is a web-based assessment management system that helps manage accreditation, assessment, planning, and quality improvement processes for colleges and universities. The software can both lead and record assessment practices in academic, administrative, and educational support areas. This system is also helpful for tracking assessment information for accrediting groups and annual reports.
Kent State University has used WEAVEonline since 2004 as a central repository for assessment and information. Data entered in WEAVEonline can be linked to the Kent State University Strategic Plan, Institutional Priorities, Kent Core (general education), and outcomes and standards set by professional accrediting agencies.
Student learning outcomes are assessed for each degree program. Assessment of student learning provides important evidence for institutional accountability. Kent State's accreditation agency, the Higher Learning Commission, requires documentation of the processes, results, reflections, and uses of student learning outcome assessment. Each administrative and academic support area establishes and measures objectives for improvement in WEAVEonline.
WEAVE stands for:
- Write expected outcomes/objectives
- Establish criteria for support
- Assess performance results
View assessment results
- Effect improvements through actions

The WEAVE Table is a Word document that may be used to submit student learning outcomes (outcome/objective), associated measures, targets, findings, action plans, analysis, and annual reporting, in lieu of direct data entry to the WEAVEonline system. Please contact Kathy Spicer (330) 672-8745 for additional information about submitting your annual report on student learning objectives (SLOs) using this document, or for assistance with using the WEAVEonline data management system.
