Important Information for Current Students
College of the Arts Student Organizations
The College of the Arts is excited to announce a new flash grant for collaborative student art and design creative projects.
Team up with another student or with a student group who works in a field other than your own! Together you will create a new, genre-bending piece that combines the mediums in which you usually work.
The Flash Grant is open to College of the Arts students from Art, Music, Theatre, Dance, or Fashion, as long as the team is comprised of students working in different genres, either in another school in the College of the Arts or another unit across campus. The team's project manager must be an undergraduate student on the Kent Campus who is currently enrolled in a major within the College of the Arts. Other team participants are up to you.
A total of FIVE awards of up to $600 each will be granted to student teams. To apply, students will submit a 500-word project summary and a one-page budget by Thurs., Jan. 22, 2015.
Selected finalists will "pitch" their project to a team of jurors on Thurs., Jan. 29, 2015, for no longer than 5 minutes. A special workshop is being offered on Tues., Nov 18 to assist teams with delivering their message in the most dynamic way possible. Contact LeAnn Starlin-Galea at 330-672-8392 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further information about this workshop.
The team will have 10 weeks to prepare their work before a showcase event held during the 2014 Spring for the Arts festival, the week of April 18-26.
