The Fashion School’s NYC Studio offered a brand new class this summer, titled “Fashion Image”. Taught by the NYC Studio Director, Young Kim, the Fashion Image class is an exciting opportunity for students to gain an insider’s view of the fashion industry’s editorial photo shoot. The class gave students the opportunity to observe, analyze, create and examine both the figurative and literal function of fashion imagery to develop visual aesthetics.
Although this is the first time Fashion Image was offered, the NYC Studio students were able to participate in an exciting collaboration with a photography class from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. On locations around New York City, NYC Studio students were able to style three looks, featuring the designs of NYC Studio professor, Sandra Murphy, while the Tisch School NYU students shot each of the looks. The result? Three successful student run fashion shoots, beautiful prints and a collaboration milestone for the NYC Studio!
