How to Apply: For Kent State University Students
Design and merchandising majors should complete required 20000 level FDM courses prior to attending the NYC Studio Program. Participants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA by the commitment contract date.
1. Study Away Pre- Approval Form:
Kent State University requires students to complete and submit the on-line pre- approval application form if you intend to participate in the NYC Studio programs during the 2015-2016 academic year, which includes the summer of 2015. The online application form will be open between September 15, 2014 and October 15, 2014.
You will receive an email confirmation indicating your acceptance into the NYC Studio program, and the semester of participation by November 15, 2014.After the November 15, 2014 the pre-approval application will be available as a pdf to fill out and return to the NYC Studio. Filling out the online pre- approval form indicates your application to the program. Your placement is not confirmed or guaranteed in a given term until the Commitment Contract is submitted and the Program Fee is paid.
Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Commitment Contract:
After you have received your email confirmation you must submit the Commitment Contract in order to secure your place in the program. The original Commitment Contract must be mailed to the address on the form and postmarked by the due date. Keep a copy for your records.
Once we have received your Commitment Contract, you will receive a confirmation email verifying that you have met the GPA requirement and may make the Program Fee payment.
DO NOT make the Program Fee payment until you have submitted your Commitment Contract and have received an email from the NYC Studio verifying you have met the requirements.
3. Program Fee:
After we receive your Commitment Contract and verify your eligibility, you will receive instructions for paying the Program Fee. The Program Fee must be paid online with a credit card.
