Porthouse Theatre Subscriber FAQ

  • What is a subscription?
    • A subscription is a one-ticket-per-show series of tickets offered at a special discounted rate. Subscribers receive additional perks such as one free ticket exchange for the season, free reservations for the Thornbury Picnic Pavilion* (one per subscription) and various discounts at participating retailers.
*Non-subscribers pay $2 per person to reserve space in the pavilion.
  • When do they go on sale?
    • Subscriptions go on sale in December. Subscriptions which have not been renewed by mid-March, will be released for purchase to the public. Please note that single tickets are not sold to anyone, not the public nor subscribers, until late May.
  • How do I reserve seats in the Pavilion?
    • In your subscriber packet, there will be a purple leaflet titled Pavilion Reservation Form.  Simply fill out the form, include the dates of your reservations, and mail in the request to the box office address on the form. We must get your completed form to complete the reservation. Phone reservations will not be accepted.
  • What if we want to be seated with another couple in the Pavilion?
    • Each party must fill out a separate Pavilion form, but you may note on the form that you would like to be seated together. If only one party fills out a form, you will not be seated together.
  • Can I place a subscription order for a group of people?
    • We do not recommend that one person purchase subscriptions for a group of people.  Purchasing for a large group under one person’s name will only allow that group one free exchange, and the exchange must be done by the purchaser.  Past experience has proven that this not only creates confusion, but also causes group members to incur additional costs.
  • Will my tickets be mailed to me?
    • If you purchase a subscription no later than two weeks prior to your first performance date, then YES,  your tickets will be mailed to you. Otherwise, they will be held at Will Call for you.
  • If I can no longer make a performance, will I be able to exchange my tickets?
    • As a subscriber, you are able to exchange your tickets, and your first exchange is free of charge! You must either mail in the tickets with your ticket exchange form or come and present the old tickets in person 24 hours in advance of your show date in order to complete your exchange.
  • What happens if I use my first exchange and need to make another?
    • All other exchanges will be assessed a $5 per ticket exchange fee.  Additional upgrade fees may apply if you are exchanging to different days of the week, such as a weekday to a Saturday performance. If you have any questions about exchanges, please call the box office.
  • Will my new tickets be mailed to me?
    • Your new tickets will be mailed to you if we receive your old tickets and you have included a self-addressed stamped envelope at least 3 weeks in advance of your show date. Otherwise, your new tickets will be held at Will Call.
