2012 COB Annual Teaching Awards Nominations

Applications are no longer being accepted for these awards this year.
College of Business Teaching Excellence Award ( Nomination Form)

The College of Business Administration offers an annual award to recognize excellence in teaching.  As a graduate or undergraduate student, we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to pay tribute to a College of Business faculty member who has made a lasting impression on you with respect to his/her teaching effectiveness.  He or she may have helped you understand difficult course material, challenged you intellectually and/or took a personal interest in you by helping you formulate and/or achieve your career goals.  You may nominate one or more of your current teachers or someone you have had during a previous semester.  Your nominee must teach a College of Business Administration course (ACCT, BAD, BUS, ECON, ENTR, FIN, M&IS, or MKTG).  Awards are available for full-time, part-time and doctoral students who teach.

The Spring 2012 deadline for completion of the nomination form is Friday, April 6, 2012.   Please return your completed form (see link above) to Mickey McGregor, Room 306 BSA.

Paul L. Pfeiffer Professional and Creative Teaching Award ( Nomination Form)

Please nominate a college of business professor who has communicated effectively the important relationship between business and theory.  The Paul L. Pfeiffer Professional and Creative Teaching Award is an award that was created by Mr. Pfeiffer himself to recognize the value of faculty bringing the real world to the classroom by sharing their experiences as examples of how theory and practice merge.  Alumni of the college of business who benefitted from Mr. Pfeiffer’s teaching also have contributed to this award.

Professor Emeritus of Marketing Paul L. Pfeiffer served the Kent State University community for forty-nine years as teacher, adviser, and mentor from 1948 until his death in 1997.  A former business manager, an educational business lecturer and writer, as well as a recipient of Kent’s Distinguished Teaching Award, Professor Pfeiffer pursued his interest in education and business as an international marketing consultant.

In keeping with Professor Pfeiffer’s philosophy of emphasizing the value of real-world experiences and professionalism in college teaching, this award recognizes those teachers who enhance their classroom lectures with relevant work-place experiences.

The Spring 2012 deadline for completion of the nomination form is Friday, April 6, 2012.  Please return your completed form (see link above) to Mickey McGregor, Room 306 BSA.
