Geneva Internship Program

Internship Objectives

Participants in the Geneva Semester Program at Webster University have the opportunity to participate in an internship as well as complete academic courses.  During the course of your semester program, you can work with a NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) or Non-Profit in downtown Geneva.  These are unpaid internships that will require equal time spent in class and working for the internship.  This course will meet every other week for a group discussion. Students engaging in the internship will enroll in at least 12 credit hours of course work in addition to 15 hours per week at the internship.  The internship is a challenging and rewarding experience.

While your internships are voluntary and unpaid in nature, academic credit will be given for completing the internship program through enrolling in the Public Service - POL 40992, 3 credit hour course.

By entering into this program, you can gain valuable work experience with an international organization and make valuable contributions to the sponsoring organization.  You will also participate in seminars (usually 8) during the semester on topics such as the U.S. Department of State or careers in international relations.

Students participating in internships are expected to maintain high professional standards and work on Fridays when necessary. The Office of Global Education and Geneva staff to their best to arrange these internships for qualified students.
