Nonprofit organizations serve some of the most diverse populations in the world. These organizations need prepared and certified employees who have an in-depth knowledge of the nonprofit industry on local, national, and international levels.

A minor in Nonprofit Studies prepares students for careers in the nonprofit sector. Available to all undergraduate students at Kent State University, graduates of this program come from a variety of majors, including: Business; Education; Health Sciences; Human Development and Family Studies; Gerontology; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology, and many more! This program allows students to gain real world experience with local nonprofit agencies through a practicum experience. Much of the coursework can be completed online and many of the 21-22 required credit hours can be counted towards a student's major. Students in this minor are prepared for careers in a variety of nonprofit organizations at the local, state, national and international level. It is important for individuals considering careers in the nonprofit sector to understand the structure of these organizations since they are very different than for-profit businesses. This minor will enhance the employability of students in the growing field of Nonprofit Studies.
