Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate

The Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate (BISC) Program is a highly specialized five-course and one advanced practicum sequence that imbues the theoretical orientation and practical application of applied behavior analysis.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science concerned with behavior. The science of ABA attempts to understand, explain, describe, and predict behavioral processes so that improvement to individual and social conditions can occur. The goal of ABA is to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior through skill acquisition and the reduction of problematic behavior. The evidence-based technology of ABA is well established, with applications in the areas of schools, developmental disabilities and concerns in children and youth, parenting, and individual behavioral changes being particular areas of focus.

KSU's Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate requirements focus on integrating foundational and specialized coursework with practical experience. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. (BACB) has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst Examination.
