The Honors curriculum is intended to be highly personal. Students work with an Honors advisor to meet their Honors College requirements, select courses, and plan for future educational, personal, and professional endeavors.
The Honors College permits students to create a 1 credit hour experience (HONR 30096/40096) in association with a non-Honors course. The goal of this project is to provide students with an enriched educational experience through a course in the major or other field of interest. This project may only be added to 3-credit-hour, standard-letter-graded, upper-division, non-Honors courses.
Individual Honors Work
Individual Honors Work (HONR 20096/30096/40096) provides students an opportunity to complete independent study (1-4 credit hours) under the direction of an instructor. The goal of this project is to provide students with an enriched educational experience in the major or other field of interest not typically covered in the standard curriculum.
Students may also apply to join the Honors College for the sole purpose of completing the Senior Honors Thesis/Project.
