During May 30th – June 3rd, a group of Kent State students went to the annual NACURH Conference at the University of Pittsburgh. NACURH is the largest student-run organization in the world, and it has a commitment to serving students who live on-campus. The annual conference serves brought together over 2,800 students from across the nation as well as international delegates. Kent State brought fourteen students to the conference for the leadership experience.

During this conference, students received the following recognition:

  • Alyssa Galmish was recognized as National Student of the Month for January 2013.
  • Danielle Melidona, Sal DeSanto and Brooke Bennett received their 3-year service pins for NACURH.
  • Chrissy Francisco and Andy Sokolich received their 4-year service pins for NACURH.
  • Danielle Melidona was awarded a Silver Pin by the Central Atlantic region (CAACURH) director for her hard work and commitment to the region.
  • Chrissy Francisco and Lindsay Marx were awarded Cougar Pride Pins by members of the Regional Board of Directors for their hard work and commitment to the Central Atlantic region (CAACURH).
  • Matt Stoner was awarded a conference pin for his commitment to completely engaging in his first NACURH conference experience.
  • Tom Ream was inducted into the Association of Alumni and Friends of NACURH.
  • Megan Corder presented a program titled “Hook, Line and Sinker: Reeling in Participants with Program Advertising”, which was awarded as one of the Top 40 programs at the conference.
  • Danielle Melidona and Andy Sokolich were officially sworn in as members of the Regional Board of Directors for the 2013-2014 academic year.
