MPH in Epidemiology

The MPH in Epidemiology program at Kent State University Department of Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences & Epidemiology is designed to train students to analyze the distribution and determinants of disease, disabilities, and death in populations. Graduates of this program will be able to apply quantitative and qualitative methods to:

  • Investigate disease outbreaks preparedness
  • Determine causal relationships between environmental and biological factors
  • Conduct studies to project health trends in populations

Students pursuing their MPH in Epidemiology can take advantage of the fact that many College of Public Health faculty focus their research in: bio-preparedness, public health surveillance systems, chronic disease, cancer, and infectious disease epidemiology.

Career opportunities for graduates who have their MPH in Epidemiology include research positions in universities, medical schools, and pharmaceutical companies; disease prevention specialists in hospitals; and surveillance managers in state and local health departments.

If you want to pursue a career that will help you make a difference, the Kent State College of Public Health is a great place to get started.

Don’t forget to explore our other four MPH programs and find out how they can help you prepare for career opportunities in the field.
