How do I know what classes to take? As a new student, advisors make class suggestions based on a conversation about life current life responsiblities, past college experience and online course experience. Advising appointments (by phone or in person) will help a student understand GPS, the Kent State Graduation Planning system where the student creates a course plan through graduation. Check out the "Navigating the GPS system" video.
When Can I schedule? The Office of the Registrar releases classes for the next term about four to six weeks before students can schedule classes for purposed of planning the next semester. Future semesters can be viewed in Flashline or at at the Kent State University web site at Schedule of Classes.
Priority Registration allows students closest to graduation to schedule classes first as determined by their amount Earned Credit Hours (the number of credits completed - it does not include currently enrolled classes). A student can find the number of Earned Hours on the GPS planning system accessible at Flashline > Student Tools > GPS (Graduation Planning System). Dates and times for each semester are listed at the Registrar's web site. Once priority registration is completed, all students can add/drop classes through the beginning of the semester.
