Part-Time Teaching Positions in SLIS

Kent State University School of Library and Information Science seeks qualified instructors for part-time, temporary positions for our online degree programs -- Master of Library and Information Science and Master of Science (with concentrations in health informatics, user experience design and knowledge management).

Selection is based on the applicant's subject expertise and professional experience in the relevant area, as well as teaching experience, with an emphasis on online teaching. (All teaching will be done online.)

The school keeps applications for part-time teaching on file for one year.

Part-time faculty members whose appointments require that their assigned duties are performed for a full semester are entitled to a fee waiver of up to a maximum of four credit hours which can be used during or immediately following the semester in which they are employed. Part-time employees earn sick leave in an amount proportionate to the percentage of full-time service.

To apply, please submit a letter of application indicating the course(s) you are eligible to teach, curriculum vitae or resume with at least three references related to teaching experience, and a sample syllabus to Athena Salaba, Ph.D., SLIS Associate Professor/Associate Director, at asalaba@kent.edu.
