Fall 2014 Student Workers
Morgan Jupina, Senior Public Relations Major
Morgan Jupina is a senior public relations major from Olmsted Falls, Ohio. This is her second semester at Flash Communications and is the assistant. Morgan was the School of Fashion Design and Merchandising beat reporter for the Daily Kent Stater in the spring of 2013 and a marketing/communications intern at ShurTech Brands during the summers of 2013 and 2014. She is a member of the PRSSA Kent chapter and competed in the 2014 National Bateman Case Study Competition. After graduating in May, Morgan plans to move to a large city to pursue a career at a PR agency and work for clients in the fashion, beauty or health industries.
Rachel Gill, Junior Public Relations Major
Rachel Gill is a junior public relations major with a marketing minor from Fairview Park, Ohio. This is her first semester as an intern at Flash Communications and is also the Co-Vice President of Fundraising for the PRSSA Kent chapter. Last spring, Rachel was the personal technology beat reporter for the Daily Kent Stater. While at Flash Communications, she hopes to improve her professional writing skills and enhance her portfolio. After graduation, Rachel hopes to pursue a career in agency or travel PR.
Amanda Knauer, Senior Public Relations Major
Amanda Knauer is a senior public relations major with a marketing minor from Erie, Pennsylvania. She is actively involved in the PRSSA Kent chapter where she served as the Vice President of Fundraising last year and currently is the Community Relations manager. Amanda was the medicine beat reporter for the Daily Kent Stater and has also spent some time working on TV2. This past summer, she interned at UPMC Hamot in Erie where she was a part of the marketing/communications team. While at Flash, Amanda hopes to improve her writing skills and work on her portfolio. Upon graduation, she wishes to work in the sports or entertainment industry.
Katie Smith, Senior Public Relations Major
Katie Smith is a senior public relations major with a minor in business Spanish from Rootstown, Ohio. This is her first semester at Flash Communications, but she interned at Lividini & Co. in New York City during the summer of 2014. Katie was the academics beat reporter for the Daily Kent Stater last fall and the public relations chair for her sorority. Katie is currently the Vice President of Public and Alumni Relations for Panhellenic Council and an opinion columnist for the Daily Kent Stater. After studying abroad in Madrid, Spain her sophomore year, she developed a strong desire to see the world. Katie hopes to hone her writing skills during her time at Flash Communications and after graduation plans to move to New York City or abroad to work at a fashion PR agency.
Samantha Tuly, Senior Public Relations Major
Samantha Tuly is a senior public relations major from Solon, Ohio. Samantha is the Vice President of professional relations for the PRSSA Kent chapter. She was the School of Fashion Design and Merchandising beat reporter for the Daily Kent Stater and was a competitor in the 2014 Bateman Case Study Competition. Samantha interned with Dix & Eaton, an integrated communications firm in Cleveland, during the summer of 2014. Upon her graduation in May, Samantha hopes to pursue a career in agency PR.
Endya Watson, Junior Public Relations Major
Endya Watson is a senior public relations major from Cleveland, Ohio. This is her first semester as an intern at Flash Communications, but was the on and off-campus entertainment reporter for the Daily Kent Stater in spring of 2014. She also has intern experience from working in the marketing and development department at the Children’s Museum of Cleveland. Endya is a member of the McNair Scholars Program and conducted research on international public relations best practices in summer of 2014. Currently, she serves as the Director of Public Relations for Black United Students. While at Flash Communications, Endya hopes to build her portfolio and improve her writing skills.
Ashlyne Wilson, Senior Newspaper Journalism Major
Ashlyne Wilson is a senior newspaper journalism major from Akron, Ohio. As a beat reporter last spring for the Daily Kent Stater, she covered the religious organizations and issues on and around the Kent State campus. This summer, Ashlyne hopes to gain internship experience with a magazine or newspaper publication. This is her first involvement writing for public relations, and hopes to use her experience at Flash Communications by expanding her writing portfolio and learning how to write in different communication styles. After graduation, she plans on going to graduate school for public relations or creative writing, and become an entertainment writer.
